Collegiate Running Association Announces 2022 Athletes of the Year

(Richmond, VA) Gina McNamara (University of Michigan) and Joshua Park (Ohio University) have been named the 2022 Collegiate Running Association Athletes of the Year.

2022 Female Athlete of the Year – Gina McNamara

Gina McNamara has been named the Collegiate Running Association’s Athlete of the Year Award after winning the 2022 Collegiate Road Mile National Championships in Winchester, Virginia in record time.  On a course that has seen many of the nations top runners, McNamara pulled away from a stellar field in the final 300M to win the title. The University of Michigan graduate student had a tremendous spring season with several personal bests. Read about her Mile win here.

Gina joined Georgetown Running Club (GRC) after moving to Washington DC for work. Her pre-GRC tenure was spent at the University of Michigan, where Gina was 5X Big-Ten finalist in the 800M for the Wolverines. She has since expanded her range to include everything from road miles to the 5K, while occasionally dabbling in cross country races. Gina hopes to set new personal bests in the 1500 – 5K in the near future. When not running, Gina enjoys exploring the local coffee scene and traveling to new places.
