MISSION

The Collegiate Running Association is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization committed to:

  • Promoting healthy lifestyles among US college students through running

  • Providing true US collegiate national championships open to all college students currently enrolled in at least one class

  • Increasing participation among US college students in Road Racing, Mountain Running, and Trail Running

  • Awarding prize money to US college students based on performance at national championship events

WHY WAS THE COLLEGIATE RUNNING ASSOCIATION CREATED?

The Collegiate Running Association was created for two main reasons:

  • To fill voids in the current collegiate system

  • To expand upon offerings in the current collegiate system

Did you know that:

  • 95% of high school cross country runners do not participate at the NCAA level

  • There are roughly 450 NCAA programs that do not sponsor year-round running programs (Cross Country, Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field)

  • Part-time students, those that have exhausted NCAA eligibility, and those that do not want to or cannot compete at the NCAA level lack college-specific racing opportunities

  • There are no collegiate championships currently offered in Road Racing, Mountain Running, or Trail Running

  • There are no races that reserve prize money specifically for college students

HOW WILL THE COLLEGIATE RUNNING ASSOCIATION

MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

  • Provide national championship races in Road Racing, Mountain Running, and Trail Running

  • Allow ALL college students, regardless of division or level, to compete against each other in the same race

  • Provide prize money reserved specifically for college students at every national championship event

  • Loosen the eligibility rules to allow any college student taking at least ONE class at any level to compete in national championship events

WHAT ARE THE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS?

The Collegiate Running Association is intended to be as inclusive as possible, therefore the only two eligibility requirements in order to compete at national championship events are:

  • Be currently enrolled at least one collee course in the US at any level

  • Have a high school diploma (high school students enrolled in a college class are NOT eligible)
