2021 Collegiate Snowshoe National Championships
FEBRUARY 26-28 - EAU CLAIRE, WISCONSIN
The Collegiate Running Association is pleased to partner with the United States Snowshoe Association to endorse the 21st United States Snowshoe Championship presented by Dion Snowshoe. For the second consecutive year the United States Snowshoe Association will include a Collegiate Snowshoe Championships.
The race weekend will offer events for everyone, of all ages and abilities. Male and female athletes will compete in either a 5km or 10km snowshoe race determined by their age as of December 31st, 2021. Working in partnership with the Collegiate Running Association (CRA), the USSSA National Snowshoe Championships will feature a national collegiate division in both the 5km (for collegiate athletes who do not turn 20 as of 12/31/21) and the 10km (for collegiate athletes who are 20 and older as of 12/31/21). Individual awards will be presented within these collegiate divisions. The top collegiate finisher in the men’s and women’s 5km and the top collegiate finisher in the men’s and women’s 10km race will be declared the 2021 Collegiate Snowshoe National Champions and the top 5 will earn All-America honors.
Collegiate athletes must qualify to compete in the USSSA National Snowshoe Championships and also be current USSSA members. Along with the traditional qualifying means, any college athlete who completed the 2020 Collegiate 10K Road Race National Championship (Richmond, Virginia) or the 2020 Collegiate Trail Running Championship (Athens, Ohio) have met the qualifying standard.
The top 3 overall finishers in the 5km National Championship event and the top 5 overall finishers in the 10km event will also earn berths on the 2021 U.S. Junior and Senior National Snowshoe Teams and be eligible to represent the USA in national and international snowshoe competition over the upcoming year.
