SUNDAY, JUNE 7, 2026- Mount Sunapee, New Hampshire
$30,000 Total USATF and Collegiate Prize Purse
Following a successful 2025 championship, the Collegiate Running Association (CRA) and SIX03 have renewed their partnership to bring the Collegiate Mountain Running National Championship back to Mount Sunapee in 2026. The 2026 Sunapee Scramble Race will be held on Sunday, June 7. In addition to the Collegiate Championships, the event will concurrently host the USATF Mountain Running Championships.

For the eighth year, prize money will be awarded to the top collegiate finishers in both the men’s and women’s championships. This marks the second consecutive year that the Sunapee Scramble will host the Collegiate National Championships alongside the USATF National Championships. With a total prize purse of $30,000, the stakes are high—including a dedicated $3,000 prize purse for top collegiate finishers, who will also receive JAMBAR, the official nutrition bar of the Collegiate Running Association.

The Sunapee Scramble will also serve as the USATF Mountain Running Championships and act as the selection race for the 2026 U.S. Men’s and Women’s Mountain Running Teams. The top overall U.S. male and female finishers will automatically qualify to represent Team USA on the 2026 USATF Classic Mountain Running Teams, competing at the WMRA World Cup Uphill and Classic finale in Quebec, Canada, on October 10–11 (Team USA selection criteria are detailed here.).

The race is open to the public. To be eligible for the Collegiate Mountain Running Championships, participants must be enrolled in a college course at the time of the race or have completed a course between January 1 and June 7, 2026. Collegiate participants must also be free members of the Collegiate Running Association to qualify for collegiate prize money. Please review the eligibility requirements or send us an email with any questions.
