
2025 Loudoun Street Mile to Host Collegiate Road Mile National Championship for 7th Consecutive Year

May 24, 2025 - Winchester, VA – The Collegiate Running Association (CRA) is proud to announce the return of the Collegiate Road Mile National Championship to Winchester, Virginia, as part of the 2025 Loudoun Street Mile. Marking the seventh consecutive year of this prestigious partnership, the event will once again feature prize money specifically reserved for collegiate athletes.
Scheduled for Memorial Day – Monday, May 26, 2025, the Loudoun Street Mile will host a combined start for the Collegiate and Open Championships, allowing eligible student-athletes the opportunity to compete for both collegiate and open prize purses.
“The Loudoun Street Mile has become a cornerstone for our road mile championship,” said CRA Founder Steve Taylor. “The Winchester community has embraced this event year after year, and we’re thrilled to return in 2025. We’re also excited to collaborate with Becky McGraw, the new event director, whose leadership continues the rich tradition of excellence.”
Located in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, Winchester offers a vibrant mix of historic charm, local culture, and outdoor beauty, making it the perfect backdrop for this celebrated race. Participants and spectators alike can enjoy the unique shops, diverse dining, and historical landmarks that define Old Town Winchester.

It supports our mission to promote community wellness and family-friendly events.”
The 2025 championship will also continue its partnership with JAMBAR, the official energy bar of the CRA. JAMBAR will provide top finishers with their organic, high-protein energy bars—perfect for athletes and health-conscious individuals alike.

Equal prize money will be awarded to the top male and female finishers, with additional prize pools designated for the top three collegians. Collegiate athletes will also be eligible for the open prize money, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere for all.
Athletes to Watch
The 2025 Loudoun Street Mile is set to showcase some of the top collegiate road milers in the country. With the Collegiate Road Mile National Championship on the line, expect strong competition from a mix of emerging and seasoned athletes. With registration still open, here are some of the names to watch:
Women (as of 5/23)
Caroline Timm - University of Virginia
Ran 4:40.99 for the Mile at the recent Light Horse Track Club Down The Stretch Track Fest Mile at George Mason University.
Kyra Holland – William & Mary
With a personal bests of 4:42.59 for the Mile, 2:12.04 in the 800M and 2:53.10 in the 1,000M and 9:26.69 in the 3,000M this Warrenton, VA native brings both speed and experience.
Michaela Reinhart – Cincinnati University Medical School
A strong contender with a 4:43.77 personal best, the Louisville, KY runner balances medical school with elite-level training. She earned her undergraduate degree from Duke University where she ran personal bests of 4:19.68 in the 1500M, 9:04.95 in the 3,000M and 15:53.08 in the 5,000M.
Bethany Graham – Furman University
Graham holds a personal best of 4:48.69 for the Mile and recently finished her undergraduate degree at Furman. With personal bests of 4:20.67 for 1500M, 9:25.00 in the 3,000M and 15:57.92 in the 5,000M she will be a factor.
Caroline Donohoe – University of Richmond
A wild card hailing from Oceanport, NJ, Donohoe has clocked an impressive 2:07.13 for the 800M, 1:32.49 in the 600M and 1:16.30 in the 500M. With the proper race plan execution she could position herself to make a serious run at both the collegiate and overall titles.
Cleo Boyd – University of Virginia
Boyd, a graduate student from Charlottesville, VA adds depth to the entry list. While a University of Virginia undergrad in 2017 she ran 4:26.09 for 1500M, 4:56.76 for the Mile, 9:18.20 in the 3,000M and 16:04.76 in the 5,000M.
Lauren Cerda – Catholic University
Based in Washington, DC, Cerda enters with a 4:59.22 Mile PB and a reputation for competitive toughness. She has also run 2:14.58 in the 800M and 4:31.29 in the 1500M.
Lauren Beatty – Converse University
Local favorite from Winchester, VA, Beatty brings home-course familiarity and personal bests of 4:52.32 in the 1500M, 17:35.00 in the 5,000M and 37:25.73 for the 10,000M. She will be looking to impress in front of a hometown crowd.
Men (as of 5/23)
Tony Tonkovich – Ohio University
Tonkovich from Athens, OH headlines the men's race as the top seed. He has twice finished in the top 3 at the CRA’s Collegiate Trail Running Championships and holds personal bests of 1:50.68 in the 800M, 3:46.99 in the 1500M, 4:05.87 in the Mile and 8:18.56 in the 3,000M.
Gabriel Planty – Syracuse University
Representing Syracuse, NY, Planty holds a 4:10 personal best and is expected to be in the mix for the win. He leans towards the longer distance races on the track but don’t be deceived, he has speed to go with his 3,000M PB of 8:25.39, 14:18.50 in the 5,000M and 30:32.24 in the 10,000M.
Aidan McCarthy – Unknown
Entered at 4:07, McCarthy from Fairfax, VA is a formidable wildcard.
Tucker McGrath – Ursinus
A talented competitor from New Market, VA, McGrath has entered in 4:09 for the event.
Patrick Doherty – University of Richmond
A promising 19-year-old from Midlothian, VA, Doherty is entered in 4:15 and represents the next generation of CRA members.
Josh Gray – University of Richmond
Also just 19, Gray from Mechanicsville, VA will look to build on a solid sophomore year where he ran 2:30.70 in the 1,000M.
R. Bennett Cupps – Bridgewater College
A Winchester native, Cupps has run 4:20 and brings local energy to the start line.
