2020 COLLEGIATE 10K ROAD RACE NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP
2020 Collegiate 10K Road Race National Championships CANCELED
Race format changed due to COVID-19 concerns
FRIDAY, September 25 through SUNDAY, September 27, 2020- RICHMOND, VA
UPDATE: Due to COVID-19 concerns the 2020 Collegiate 10K Road Race National Championships are canceled for this year and the event format for the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K has been changed. The event will be held on 4 courses in the greater Richmond over a three day window.
Sports Backers will hold the popular Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K in September — just not on the same day, not on Monument Avenue, and not with everyone together. The event, which attracted more than 25,000 entrants and over 2,200 college students last year, will have different options to meet public health guidelines amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Registered participants will have four courses around the Richmond area to run, jog or walk whenever they want from Friday, Sept. 25, through Sunday, Sept. 27. They also can take part on a route of their choosing in a virtual option.
The 21st anniversary of the Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K presented by Kroger was scheduled to serve as the Collegiate 10K Road Race National Championship host for the 7th consecutive year, however with the pandemic and the event format change the Collegiate Championships are canceled. This event was scheduled to offer $10,000 in prize money specifically reserved for college students. Check eligibility requirements or send us an email message with questions.
We'll miss the more than 50 bands, spirit groups, and porch parties that lined the 2019 Ukrop’s Monument Avenue 10K course, in addition to thousands of spectators, providing entertainment throughout the event. Look for the return of the Collegiate 10K Road Race National Championships to be held within the 2021 Ukrop's Monument Avenue 10K.
